Past tense conversation cards. What did you do during the holidays? Christmas and New Year’s Eve/Day. 2-in-1 conversation cards and worksheets + a file convenient for displaying on a screen.

2-in-1 conversation cards/worksheets: “What did you do during the holidays?” Additionally, a file suitable for digital use (for displaying on a wall or computer screen) is included. Print and distribute, cut and laminate, or display on a computer. – The same material can be used according to your own possibilities and needs.

The material includes 36 Numbered and illustrated questions in the Estonian ‘sina’ form About the past Christmas holidays and the end of the year. There are both yes/no questions and open-ended questions. The vocabulary and forms are suitable for beginner language learners (thanks in part to the illustrations), but for added interest, some more advanced vocabulary is included, e.g., tin valama (to pour tin), uusaastalubadusi andma (to make New Year’s resolutions), and so on.

Student:

  • repeats and expands vocabulary, including question words
  • forms the past tense “mina” form based on the second-person singular (“sina”) form
  • forms affirmative and negative sentences in the past tense (practices forming the past participle with -nud)
  • can talk about themselves and their own holidays

If desired, and for more talkative students, the material can be modified—for example, practicing the past tense with other persons, asking students to come up with an additional question for each prompt, writing a short story about a friend’s holidays based on their answers, or comparing their own answers with others’ to find similarities and differences.

All materials are visible in the preview.
