2-in-1 conversation cards/worksheets: “What did you do during the summer?”. Additionally, a file suitable for digital use (for displaying on a wall or computer screen) is included. Print and distribute, cut and laminate, or display on a computer. – The same material can be used according to your own possibilities and needs.
The material includes 48 Numbered and illustrated questions in the Estonian ‘sina’ form About the past summer. There are both yes/no questions and open-ended questions. The word order in the questions varies to illustrate Estonian’s relatively free word order. The vocabulary and forms are suitable for beginner language learners (thanks in part to the illustrations), but for added interest, four plural partitive forms are included (tähti, vaarikaid, tomateid, lilli) as well as more interesting vocabulary, e.g., müristama (to thunder), paljajalu (barefoot), and so on.
Student:
- repeats and expands vocabulary, including question words
- forms the past tense “mina” form based on the second-person singular (“sina”) form
- forms affirmative and negative sentences in the past tense (practices forming the past participle with -nud)
- can talk about themselves and their own summer
If desired, and for more talkative students, the material can be adapted—for example, practicing the past tense with other persons, asking students to come up with an additional question for each prompt, writing a short story about a friend’s summer based on their answers, or comparing their own answers with others’ to find similarities and differences.
All materials are visible in the preview.
